Stage 4: Mondorf-les-Bains - Vittel Update

Drama as always in the Tour de France, with Arnaud Démare taking the first TDF bunch sprint by a Frenchman for 11 years in a crash marred finish of the stage into Vittel. He beat out Peter Sagan and Alexander Kristoff over the line with André Greipel taking fourth. Unfortunately a number of riders were affected by two serious crashes in the final few hundreds metres, the most dramatic when  Peter Sagan forced his way through an impossible gap elbowing Mark Cavendish into the barriers. His heavy fall also took out John Degenkolb and Ben Swift who weren't able to avoid Cavendish.

As a result of his actions, Sagan was first relegated to last place, before eventually being disqualified from the race.
